The first production for Land of Spirit has a name - “The Last Hard Times.” After the Public Reading of the first draft, it was only fitting the play be named “The Last Hard Times.” There are various scenes regarding Hard Times - in drama, song and laughter. . .
More than 60 local citizens came for auditions - from 5 years of age to 90+!   Artistic Director Richard Geer and Playwright, Jules Corrier, were excited with the amount of local talent. Dr. Geer stated, “It is gratifying to know we have this much local talent in Franklin County”!Â
Ms. Corriere is completing the re-writes at this time, based on input from the public reading, and parts will be cast in the next couple of weeks. Auditions begin April 28, with the first performance open to the public on June 5, 2008!Â
Local composer, Heather McCluskey, has written the Land of Spirit theme song, and has now completed another - “Makin’ that Moonshine.” She is an extremely talented musician and we can’t wait for the audience to hear these beautiful and creative songs.
